ACP Block Party + Open Exhibition
Atlanta Center for Photography is proudly located on Edgewood Avenue in the heart of historic Atlanta, surrounded by a robust community of local businesses and artisans. Join us on May 11 from 2-6 PM for the ACP Block Party + Open Exhibition, an event celebrating the Edgewood community’s distinctive and quintessentially “Atlanta” character.
In an effort to highlight the past, present and future vibrancy of Edgewood Avenue, the ACP Block Party + Open Exhibition is a single day of art, food, music, events, and activities hosted by the Atlanta Center for Photography in collaboration with several local businesses in our neighborhood. Our partnership is both a celebration of our rich community and a disruption of the cycle of speculation and displacement that challenges its sustainability.
Community partners include: Dad’s Garage, Fred Martin Welding Co., Historic District Development Corporation, King of Pops, Marcus Bar and Grille, and Staplehouse
With special artist contributions from: Amanda Edmondson Corbett, William Downs and Erin Jane Nelson
This event is sponsored by the Historic District Development Corporation

About the Exhibition:
Atlanta Center for Photography invites all photographers and lens-based artists to submit work in-person or via mail to a sprawling open exhibition happening in conjunction with the block party on May 11, 2-6 PM.
ACP Open 2024 is an open call exhibition with all submissions accepted—a nod to photography’s ultra-democratic ethos and an opportunity for anyone with a print to show up and be part of an Atlanta Center for Photography group exhibition.
We hope the excessive and maximalist installation will be a testament to Atlanta’s robust arts community and an opportunity to celebrate photography as an inclusive force for social transformation.
Artwork Requirements:
Please submit unframed, lens-based work, no larger than 16 x 20”. All work should be able to be hung using sticky tack, painter’s tape, Command strips, etc.
We encourage as much variation as possible in color, theme, and presentation. Bring us your photographs, lens-based mixed media, light-based collage—we want it all! Homages to the vibrant culture of Atlanta are particularly encouraged.
Artworks should be dropped off at the ACP Project Lab, 546 Edgewood Avenue, May 3-4 or 6-7, 12-5 PM. Participation is free, but we suggest a donation of $10 to support our programs. Student or class submissions are free and welcomed.
Postcard-sized artworks can be sent to Atlanta Center for Photography, 546 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA, 30312 or can be left in our mailbox at any time. Please include your name on the back of your work as you would like it to appear in the gallery, as well as your email address and phone number.
All photos must be picked up at the ACP Project immediately following the block party on May 11, 6-7 PM.
